International Week 2003
The International Week began on Monday, January 27th 2003. It
involved a day of cultural exposure, where international students were encouraged
to go wear their international night T-shirts and talk about the upcoming events.
Also on Monday, there was a display box set up in the University Community Center
(UCC) showcasing different cultural artifacts, and advertising the upcoming
events.
On Tuesday, We had a professor from the Emory University's Middle Eastern studies department, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Batal, come to speak about his very learned personal and professional perspective on the situation of life in the Middle East. His presentation was titlted Winning the War or the Peace: The US role in the Middle East. The presentation was a huge success, as it was concluded in a productive dialogue between students, staff, and community members.
