The mission of User Support Services is to provide exceptional support in the use of
instructional media, computing and information technology resources in a responsive,
knowledgeable and efficient manner.

The goals of User Support Services are:
|
| To manage a help desk facility to meet the campus need for information and
instructional resources support service and to make clearly available a variety of means
for contacting ITS and other technology areas of campus; To provide an organization that
will effectively screen and route a request for assistance or information to the most
appropriate source and provide the user with concise and timely information about the
progress of any request, from initial contact through final resolution; To select,
acquire, maintain and provide consulting services for selected information technology
hardware and software, site licensed applications and information resource facilities; To
provide and coordinate user access to centrally managed information technology resources;
To provide the user with a staff that is professional, well trained and dedicated to the
prompt, accurate and courteous delivery of service and support. To administer and/or
provide security for critical administrative computing systems of UWG such as the Student
Information System (Banner/SIS), the College Financial Accounting Systems (CUFA), and
other required programming needs; academic computing needs including the Campus-Wide
Information System (WWW ) and the campus electronic mail system; |
