Took a 3-week trip to Wyoming with my good friend Ken in the summer of 1993. We spent some
time in Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) and the Tetons. Some pictures
from RMNP are included below. We climbed routes on Lumpy Ridge, Hallet
Peak, Petit Grepon, Spearhead, Chiefs Head, McHenrys Peak, Notchtop and The
Diamond (Longs Peak).

Hallet Peak
We climbed Culp-Bossier, which goes right up the prominent buttress slightly right of center. |
|
|
|
Petit Grepon
The thin spire in the center. Nice climb to verrrry small summit. |
|
|
|
Atop Petit Grepon
The summit was the size of a few tabletops with sheer drops on all sides. |

Pleasant climbing on Dogstar on McHenrys Peak
Not a popular route but we love it. Ascends a series of corners and ramps. Requires intricate routefinding. |

Birds of Fire goes straight up, right about in the middle of the picture. |

Birds of Fire
The crux is that little overhang up there |

Birds of Fire
Nice, big belay ledge for a change. |

The Diamond (east face Longs Peak) from Boulder Field
It's a long hike in. Many opt to bivouac near here the night before. |

The climbing begins
The Diamond is cold, high and unforgiving. We found this route to be unrelentingly steep and difficult. By far the most serious climbing of the trip. |
