In Summer 2010 I went to Wyoming with my two sons, Mason (age 15) and Cole
(age 11). We hadn't gotten our act together to get anyone to tend to the
animals while we were gone, so my wife Stacy stayed home alone to hold down the
fort. Mason had his driver's learner's permit so was able to help with
driving. On this trip we stopped at Adobe Town and Red Lake Dunes in and
near the Great Divide Basin, and the Gros Ventre and Wind River Mts. This
page includes pictures from the Gros Ventre Mts.

Another view of Laramide deformation
Tilted Pz limestones (foreground) and Archean gneisses (darker, in background). Pz rocks were deformed as Archean gneiss was brought up along thrust fault. |
