Kappa Delta's
Philanthropy
Kappa
Delta has four national philanthropies, more than ANY National
Panhellenic sorority. Our philanthropies include the Girl
Scouts of the USA, Prevent Child Abuse America, Children's Hospital
of Richmond Virginia, and Orthopedic Research Awards.
We also work
with Alice's House, a local home for troubled children
in Carrollton and our favorite local Girl Scout troop. In 1999,
Kappa Delta created the first holiday for women, National
Women's Friendship Day, which happens every third Sunday
in September. In 2006, Kappa Delta also joined the Dove Champagne
for Real Beauty in order to promote self-esteem among young women.
Every Spring, Kappa Delta actively participates in the Relay
for Life Charity.
Shamrock
Shootout Golf Tournament for Prevent Child Abuse America
Every year Kappa
Delta holds a Shamrock event to raise money for Prevent Child Abuse
America. For the past two years Kappa Delta has held a Shamrock
Shoot Out Golf tournament. This year we were able to raise
$9,000, due to local sponsorships and donations!

Girl
Scouts of America
This is probably
one of our favorite philanthropies!
Every 2nd and 4th Monday of each month we attend local girl scout
meetings.
In the spring of 2007, Kappa Delta helped the girls
put on a fashion show for their parents and troop leaders by assisting
them with their walks and a dance at the end of the show.
This fall we also helped them plan the bridging
ceremony for the Daisies.

Relay
for Life
Every year we actively
participate in the Relay for Life Charity. We set up snow cone makers
and face painting in order to raise money for the cause.
