LIBRARY INSTRUCTION
MISSION STATEMENT
The Library Instruction faculty strive to teach students and faculty
how to identify, evaluate, and use library resources to meet their
research needs.
The Library Instruction faculty work to accomplish their
mission through:
- Library Instruction Sessions. Basic library
instruction is provided through 30-minute sessions on a variety
of topics. University
faculty may request instructional presentations for upper division and
graduate level courses on sources pertinent to a
discipline or a class assignment. For additional information, see the

a
Research Tutorial for ENGL1101/COMM1110 and General Information Topics
is available electronically.
- Library Research Course, LIBR1101,
Academic Research and the Library, is taught each semester and is open to
all undergraduate students.
- Library Orientation Visits. In accordance with
established library policy, special advanced arrangements may be made for
instructional tours for non-UWG affiliated groups. For additional

- Staff development programs, which are designed to meet the needs of
the University faculty and staff, are scheduled periodically.
