STEP SEVEN: CITE AND DOCUMENT YOUR SOURCES

When writing a research paper or assignment you must provide accurate and complete references of what you have taken from a source and exactly where that source can be found. Documentation is usually in the form of footnotes or a list of works cited, depending on the rules of the style of writing your professor asks you to use.

There is no single method for citing sources in a paper. Your professor may recommend that you follow a certain format or citation style.
