REFERENCE
The Reference Department includes reference resources (print and electronic), the
Reference Desk, and the
research computers.
The Reference Department of the Library is the best place to begin your research.
The role of reference is to instruct patrons how to use the library by
providing one-on-one services answering specific requests for information. Reference
provides assistance to patrons in selecting and evaluating appropriate print
and/or electronic resources to provide the information needed.
Print resources in the Reference Department include encyclopedias, dictionaries,
biographical sources, bibliographies, and a variety of other sources that provide
the student with quick facts and information.
In addition to print reference resources, Ingram Library also provides access
to a growing collection of over 150 databases, available both on and off-campus.
Many of these research databases access full-text materials, such as magazine
and journal articles. For information on how to access databases off campus
see Your
Library Account and Passwords.
If you have any questions about the use of the Library databases or need help
finding what you need, please consult a Reference librarian or call the Reference
Desk at 678-839-6495
The Reference Department offers additional services such as Ask
a Librarian. Visit the Reference
Department home page for additional information.
