Prepare for a debate in which everyone in the class will participate and argue pro or con the following statement: Although she commits a horrible crime, Medea wins our sympathy as a victim of a misogynistic society and of a cruel husband. She has several heroic traits: she is brave, determined, and clever.

Write one paragraph arguing for or against the statements above. Then anticipate at one argument on the other side and write out a paragraph refuting the other side’s argument.
