(I) HOMEWORK:
Specifically assigned homework
problems will be discussed in class and simulated on exams. There will be no memorized problems, and
homework will not routinely be taken up for a grade.
However, occasionally selected
homework problems may be taken up and graded as described in (II). IT
IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE COURSE
WITHOUT
DOING HOMEWORK ON A DAILY BASIS. PLEASE TURN OFF ALL
CELL PHONES DURING CLASS!!
(II) CLASS PRESENTATIONS:
Each student will be required to
make an occasional class presentation AND/OR turn in some specific homework
problem(s). These efforts will be graded
as follows:
A(5),B(4),C(3),D(2),F(0). At the end of the term, the average score on
class presentations/homework will be added to your final daily course
average.
(III) TESTS: ( NO
MAKE-UP TESTS !!! )
(A) EXAMS: There will be three or four 100 point exams
(USUALLY ON WEDNESDAYS [MAY OVERLAP
MONDAYS OR FRIDAYS]).
(B) FINAL EXAM: A comprehensive final exam will be given on
Monday (12/12/05) at 11:00 AM -1:00 PM.
(C) GRADING: 90 - 100: A
80 - 89: B
70 - 79: C
60 -69: D

60: F
(D) "W" DEADLINE: The
last day to withdraw with a "W" is OCTOBER 13.
NOTE: Your daily average will be 2/3 of your final
grade and your final exam
score
will be 1/3 of your final grade.
