BSN Program
Bachelor of Science
in Nursing Program
Cynthia Epps, PhD, RN, Undergraduate Coordinator
The Department of Nursing Undergraduate Program offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree with two tracks. A generic track for those students who have never been licensed as an RN. This program prepares graduates who are eligible to apply to take the NCLEX-RN, the national licensing examination to become a Registered Nurse. The RN/BSN track provides the opportunity for individuals who are already Registered Nurses to complete a BSN degree.
The BSN program is based on a philosophy of caring. The philosophy is exemplified through Caring Groups that provide students with the opportunity to learn caring for self and others. The Caring Groups consist of a group of 10-12 students and one faculty facilitator. The Group meets together on a regular basis during the program to provide encouragement and support, thus enhancing the potential for success in the program. The Photo Gallery illustrates some of the activities in this program.
