Teaching Philosophy:
I believe that the most important job of a teacher is to inspire students
and provide a supportive, caring environment for learning to occur.
I believe that caring is the essence of nursing as well as a way of
living. Caring must extend to
patients, peers, and other health care workers.
Students learn to care by experiencing caring.
I believe that students should be actively involved in learning – it is
not a spectator sport. I also
believe strongly that laughter and humor are positive forces that enhance
learning and, generally, make life more bearable.

The most unique thing about our program is…that we care and we truly
walk the talk related to caring. We
have a small program that allows for individualized instruction and lots of
faculty/student interactions. Our
caring group activities are especially unique and have been used in other
academic settings.
