Announcing 2 Faculty Positions

for

2008-2009

 

The University of West Georgia (http://www.westga.edu), a charter member of the University System of Georgia, is currently recruiting for two tenure-track faculty positions in the Department of Nursing. The University of West Georgia is a comprehensive institution of just over 10,000 students located on 625 acres in the city of Carrollton. (http://carrollton-ga.gov/). Carrollton is approximately 45 miles west of Atlanta.

 

Position Description:  Two tenure-track academic-year appointments are available in 2008-2009 in the areas of Adult Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Health Systems Leadership/Clinical Nurse Leadership, Pediatric Nursing and/or Informatics. Responsibilities include classroom and clinical teaching with face-to-face and online opportunities in both the undergraduate and graduate programs on four campuses - Carrollton, Newnan, Dalton and Rome.

 

Qualifications: Applicants are required to hold a Master’s Degree in Nursing and a Doctorate in Nursing or a related field preferred. You must have an active RN license to practice nursing in the state of Georgia (or be eligible). Teaching experience is preferred. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

 

The Department: The Department of Nursing (http://www.westga.edu/~nurs) at the University of West Georgia is internationally recognized for its development and implementation of Caring Groups, an experiential strategy for learning caring in nursing. Faculty members work closely with both undergraduate and graduate students to create a supportive learning environment. The undergraduate program offers generic BSN and RN-BSN tracks and the graduate program offers tracks in Nursing Education and Health Systems Leadership with an option for the new AACN Clinical Nurse Leader role. All programs are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
