  6. As of 8/29/11, the Deans Advisory Committee has officially voted that CNA certification is required for enrollment in nursing courses (June) . Applicants with a current LPN license in the state of Georgia are exempt from this requirement, however EMTs, CMAs and other certified/licensed professionals will be required to complete CNA certification. If you were previously certified but have been out of practice for 2 years or more, recertification will be required.
