Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program

Cynthia Epps, PhD, RN, Associate Dean

The School of Nursing Undergraduate Program offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree with two tracks. A generic track for those students who have never been licensed as an RN. This program prepares graduates who are eligible to apply to take the NCLEX-RN, the national licensing examination to become a Registered Nurse. The generic track program admits once each year in the Summer, application information can be found below under 'How to Apply.' The RN-BSN track provides the opportunity for individuals who are already licensed as Registered Nurses to complete a BSN degree. Please click on the left menu, "Programs" and "RN-BSN" to read more information.

The BSN program is based on a philosophy of caring. The philosophy is exemplified through Caring Groups that provide students with the opportunity to learn caring for self and others. The Caring Groups consist of a group of 10-12 students and one faculty facilitator. The Group meets together on a regular basis during the program to provide encouragement and support, thus enhancing the potential for success in the program. The Photo Gallery illustrates some of the activities in this program.

Please scroll down on this page for specific information on our BSN program. If, after you have downloaded and read the appropriate documents, you still have questions, please contact an advisor in the School of Nursing, see the advising schedule and call 678-839-6552 or 770-254-7381(Newnan). You may also email nurs@westga.edu with questions.
