Scholarships
Several scholarships are offered through the School of Nursing to students in the BSN program. Students are encouraged to read the criteria for each scholarship and apply for those where they meet the criteria. Students may apply for more than one scholarship. The scholarship criteria and application are available below, and the application is due by May 15th each year. Decisions for scholarships awarded by the School of Nursing are made during the Summer Semester. Students who receive nursing scholarships will have the award applied to the Fall and Spring Semesters. Other scholarship opportunities are posted on the Grapevine homepage under 'Scholarships.'
Students applying for School of Nursing scholarships should also file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form in the Financial Aid Office or online. For more information about financial aid, please contact the Office of Financial Aid for the University of West Georgia.

WellStar Offers an 8-week Nurse Internship Program:
The requirements are a 3.0 GPA or higher, completion of one clinical rotation, 2 letters of recommendation from faculty, an official transcript, and current CPR card.

Student Organizations
Students are encouraged to participate in the Student Nurses Associate chapter, also called Georgia Association of Nursing Students and there is an active chapter of GANS at the University of West Georgia. SNA Chapter
Students will also be considered for membership in the Pi Nu Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. The criteria for membership can be found on the chapter home page.
