Shirley Crawford, a long-time member of our chapter, lost her fight with cancer this week.
Shirley, a special education teacher at H.A. Jones Elementary in Bremen, received a grant from PDK's District 7 for an outdoor science classroom. With the initial start-up grant from PDK, Shirley sought and received additional grants over the years, and her outdoor classroom was a source of

pride for her school.
Her colleagues tell us that through the hardest times with chemo treatments and pain, Shirley never complained and seldom missed school. Her career was marked by her love of her children. Shirley was a caring and enthusiastic educator who set a standard for each of us. She will be missed, but not forgotten.
