The key experiences describe what young children do, how they perceive their world, and the kinds of experiences that are important for their development.  The key experiences form a composite picture of the range of preschoolers' thoughts and actions as they develop and exercise their emerging capacities to use language, move, make thing work, interact with others, develop an understanding of logical thought and
social relationships, and represent their perceptions of their world.  For children, the key experiences provide natural opportunities to construct knowledge and gain a sense of competence.

     The State University of West Georgia operates the Child Development Center in the Education Annex for children aged three to five year.  The Center is
under the direction of the Early Childhood, Elementary, and Reading Department.  The center employs two full-time teachers, two teaching assistants, and three graduate teaching assistants.  The Center also provides field experiences for students in several fields of study.
     The curriculum is based upon a combination of  High/Scope's Preschool Key Experiences and Creative Curriculum.  High/Scope's preschool key experiences are a series of statements that describe the social, cognitive, and physical development of children aged 2 1/2 to 5.   The 58  key experiences are related to
