- Stop 1. Dugdown Mountain, boundary of Piedmont and Valley-and-Ridge Provinces.
- Stop 2. Taylor Ridge, near Gore. Fold limb exposing Mississippian Fort Payne Formation. (no photos)
- Stop 3. Shinbone Ridge, near Menlo. Fold limb exposing (from right) Silurian Red Mountain, Devonian Chattanooga Shale, and Mississippian Maury Shale and Fort Payne Formations.
- Stop 4. High Rock, near Mentone. Ridge of Pennsylvanian Warren Point Sandstone Formation overlooking Wills Valley anticline. (no photos)
- Stop 5. Lookout Mountain. Ridge of Pennsylvanian Warren Point Sandstone Formation overlooking McClemore Cove anticline. (no photos)
- Stop 6. Coal mines, near Durham. Waste piles contain Pennsylvanian plant shales.
- Stop 7. Pigeon Mountain. Limbs of Pigeon Mountain syncline exposes Mississippian Fort Payne and Devonian Chattanooga Shale Formations. (no photos)
