Alumni
Communication Tools
1. Newsletters
Newsletters can be a very effective means of
communicating with chapter alumni.
Newsletters can be vital in keeping alumni informed
about the chapter and just as importantly, other
alumni.
|
2. Myspace
In the era of social networks, new opportunities for
communication between the active chapter and alumni.
Social networks such as Myspace have provided tools
to help fraternity members get to know each other
outside of newsletters and the more faceless emails
over the chapter list-serve.
|
3. Facebook
Yet another of the Social Networks that are ever
popular with college students. Unfortunately,
facebook is limited to people with college email
addresses, so alumni who have long graduated would
be left out in the cold.
|
4. E-cards/E-vites
E-cards
can be effectively used to wish Alumni happy
birthdays, congratulations on new jobs, and any
other day to day celebrations that might arise.
It certainly adds a nice, more personal touch to the
chapter/alumni relations plus shows alumni who may
not be able to come around to often that the active
chapter indeed cares about them.

|
5. Frappar Maps
A nifty little gadget. These maps show the
states/cities where alumni currently reside, and may
give alumni the chance to get to know fellow alumni
brothers in the area.
|
|
6. Phone Calls/Mail
Perhaps mail and the act of actually calling alumni
may becoming more obsolete in the electronic age,
but the options are still there for those who wish
to go that route.
|
7.
List-Serves
Establishing an alumni specfic list serve is useful,
especially for alumni who may wish to stay in touch
with the chapter, but not know all of the little
details such as a meeting being canceled. |
