The Georgia Iota Chapter of Phi Sigma Tau is West Georgia's philosophical link to the world of Honor Societies. The chapter consists of students who have shown high scholarship and a sincere interest in philosophy. If you are interested in joining us or simply finding more out about the society and chapter, please explore the rest of the site.

Primary Goals

Founded not only to award and recognize outstanding scholarship, but to popularize philosophy in general, the chapter offers a social environment for students as well as an academic one. Acting as a sounding board and group learning community, the members of Phi Sigma Tau embrace their love of wisdom and offer you the chance to join them.

Meetings

Our chapter of Phi Sigma Tau meets monthly during fall and spring semesters for informal conversation about philosophical questions, members' current research projects, and issues related to graduate study in philosophy. We initiate new members each April, during the UWG Philosophy Program's year-end awards ceremony.

Phi Sigma Tau's sister organization, the West Georgia Philosophical Society, holds bi-weekly meetings for discussion of philosophical and religious topics.
