Our Doctoral Program and Its Potential
In an age of remarkable potential and unfathomable peril, our world needs psychologists who are capable of understanding the depth of human experience and who can catalyze transformative growth.
The doctoral program in Individual, Organizational, and Community Transformation is dedicated to preparing a new kind of psychologist. The preparation entails focused exploration of the dynamic interface between consciousness and society, individual experience and collective structures. A variety of theoretical perspectives support the exploration:
- humanistic
- transpersonal
- existential-phenomenological
- critical
- psychoanalytic
- Eastern and Western spiritual and wisdom traditions
- neuroscience
The University of West Georgia's doctoral program invites students to pursue their own interests with global understanding and local sensitivity. Students, in turn, will become the agents of sustainable change in the fields of education, health care, social services, government, religion, non-profit and corporate settings and beyond.
