Room Sign-up and Verification Process (R.S.V.P)

Any current UWG student who wants to live on campus for the 2007-08 academic year may sign a contract beginning February 1, 2008.

Any current UWG student who wants to live on campus for the 2008-09 Academic year may sign a contract beginning February 1, 2008. Any student who signs a contract during the month of February will be guaranteed a room! The process is easy and convenient and all students who turn in housing contracts between February 1 and February 28 (or as long as supplies last) will receive a gift.

While we will continue to take contracts from current students as long as there is space available, and with the exception of single suites and 2 bedroom apartments, priority for specific rooms, suites and apartments will be given to those who turn contracts in during the month of February.

Students currently living in single suites or two bedroom apartments will have the option to reserve their same space during the month of February. Because of the limited number single suites and 2 bedroom apartments that are available, a lottery will be utilized to allocate single suites or 2 bedroom apartments once current students have had a chance to reserve their current room. Students who want a single suite or 2 bedroom apartment may indicate such on their contract and any student who submits a contract during the month of February will be entered in a lottery drawing for any remaining single suites. This lottery will be held on March 3 and students will be notified via email if they are selected for a single.

All students submitting a housing contract will be eligible for a drawing for an I-Pod. This drawing will be held on May 2.

Step 1: Getting to the contract.

  • Log on to MyUWG and click on the "Banweb" tab.
  • Select the Student Services and Financial Aid link.
  • Then select the Housing and Meal Plans link.
  • Then select the Housing Application link.
  • Select Fall 2008 as your term.

Step 2: Choose your contract type. You may select from any one of the following contract options.

  • Tyus Hall
  • University Suites
  • Arbor View Apartments

Step 3: Do a little walking.

  • Return your signed contract to the Residence Life Office in Mandeville Hall.
  • Pick up your gift!

Arbor View Apartments

Effective Fall 2008, the Arbor View contract will be an academic year contract for two semesters, Fall and Spring. Students will have the option to sign contracts for summer however contracts signed during the room sign up period will run from the official move in day for Fall 2008-May 15, 2009. Students who wish to take classes during the summer will be required to sign a summer contract for Arbor View.

2 Bedroom Apartments and Single Suites

The following process will be used to determine who gets remaining single suites and 2 bedroom apartments once current students have the chance to reserve their same room or apartment:

  1. All students who turn in a signed contract between February 1 and February 28 who request a single suite or a 2 bedroom apartment will be entered into a lottery.
  2. After February 28, any single suite or 2 bedroom not reserved by its current occupant, will be open for students selected in the single suite/2 bedroom lottery.
  3. The lottery for single suites and 2 bedroom apartments will be held on March 3 and students selected will be notified via email. Students not selected will be placed on a waiting list based on their lottery number but will automatically be assigned to either a double suite or a four bedroom apartment.

Selecting suite mates or apartment mates.

Students may request up to 3 students a s suitemates or apartment mates on their housing contract.

Students who do not have specific persons in mind to live with will be given the opportunity to meet with students at a “meet and greet” activity to be held sometime during the month of April.

Students should be advised that spaces not filled may be used for incoming freshmen.

University Suites

Students may request a single suite. However, these are extremely limited and will be allocated in the following priority:

  1. Current occupants of single suites who turn in their University Suites contracts between February 1 and February 28.
  2. Remaining single suites will be allocated to students who request a single based on the date the University Suites contract is turned in to the Residence Life Office.
  3. Students who request a single and are not assigned one will automatically be assigned to a double suite.

Students may request up to 3 students as suitemates. All 4 students who want to live together should fill out their University Suites contracts and turn them in at the same time.

Students who do not have specific persons in mind to live with will be given the opportunity to meet students at a "Meet and Greet" activity some time during the 2007 Spring Semester.
