Campus Living Options

West Georgia offers a wide variety of living basic services; they represent different options in campus living. All residence halls provide the following services for their residents:

• a central communications desk
• study lounges
• recreational rooms
• T. V. lounges
• kitchen facilities
• vending areas
• laundry rooms

All the residence halls are air-conditioned and have carpeted hallways. Rooms are furnished with a bed, desk, chair, chest of drawers, closet and mirror for each resident. Although the halls provide the same options in ten different residence halls. We are confident that you will find something to fit your needs.

All residence halls are Smoke-Free environments! No smoking is allowed in any areas of any residence hall. Getting involved in activities - as a planner or participant - is one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to make the most of your limited years at West Georgia. Making friends, belonging to a group, and developing leadership and interpersonal skills are the rewards of involvement. Several great ways of getting involved are listed here. Check them out! Your Resident Assistant can help you in acquiring additional information about your interests.

Downs Hall houses primarily upperclass students. Downs is a co-ed environment with a more academic focus.
Boykin Hall is exclusively a sorority residence hall with six national sororities: Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Zeta Delta, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Delta, and Phi Mu. Residents of Boykin must be a member of one of these sororities.
Bowdon Hall is a female residence hall on the east side of the West Georgia campus. The building is composed of three wings, each with three floors. Bowdon is known for bright rooms with large windows and for its convenient access to the humanities and social science buildings.
Watson Hall is a traditional female residence hall located behind Public Safety on the west side of campus. Housing just fewer than 300 residents, the building features three floors of living space and a basement. Every floor is divided into three wings.
Strozier Complex houses part of the FYRST Program (First Year Residents Succeeding Together). This Freshman only program provides a more supportive environment for the first time student. A series of special educational and social opportunities is provided.
Gunn Hall is a co-ed residence hall that houses The Advanced Academy of Georgia. Gunn accomodates 180 residents at capacity and is composed of two wings (1 housing males and 1 housing females) that are joined by a main lobby and a basement.
Tyus Hall is a co-educational residence hall for upperclass, international, and disabled students. The building is composed of five floors of suites which vary in style and size. All suites exit onto an exterior walkway. Thus, students have 24 hour visitation.
