LOGGING ON TO WEBCT
You may access the WebCT login from the UWG webpage at http://www.westga.edu by selecting the link MyWebCT in the upper right hand corner. You will be directed to the UWG WebCT homepage. At the bottom of the homepage are the following directions:
Login Directions: Your "Username" is the same as your UWG e-mail username example: stu6550). Every registered student is assigned this stu # username, whether they activate a UWG e-mail account or not. Type your username in all small letters, using no spaces. If you do not know your UWG assigned e-mail username, you may you may click here to search for your username to search for your username. At the start of every term, your initial WebCT "Password" is the last two digits of your birth year followed by the last four digits of your social security number. (Note: Changing your Banweb password does not change your WebCT password.)
Select the “Log on to My WebCT” link and on the popup screen follow the above directions to logon to your WebCT homepage.
You are now on your WebCT homepage. You should see all of the WebCT courses in which you are enrolled.
IF YOU ARE A FIRST TIME USER, BEFORE YOU BEGIN USING WebCT IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU PERFORM THE FOLLOWING:
You must be sure that you are using a browser that is compatible with WebCT and that your settings are correct. EVERYTHING you need to know about the technical aspects of using WebCT can be accessed from your WebCT homepage under:

On the homepage you will also find a variety of learning opportunities including
ABC's of WebCT: A Student Tutorial which is a WebCT practice area for students
and WebCT Student Orientation. I suggest that you explore both of these areas before beginning to use WebCT for the course.
The following Browsers are supported by WebCT 3.6
Supported: 4.5x, 4.6x, and all versions of 4.7 except 4.78 and 4.79
Not supported: 4.78 and 4.79 6.0 –
Supported: 5.0 to 5.5 Service Pack 2 (SP2)
Not supported: IE 5.5 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
IE 6.0: Not officially supported for versions of WebCT other than 3.7. See our entry in the WebCT Knowledge Base to learn more, and for steps to take if you are attempting to use IE 6 with WebCT versions up to and including WebCT 3.6
The following steps are required and specific information may be found on the previously noted webpages to guide you through these steps

2.If you use AOL...there are specific instructions for AOL users that must be followed to use WebCT successfully
3.Enable Java
4.Set Your Browser Cache to Always Reload a Page
5.Turn off Anonymous Logon
6. There are
plug-ins that you will need to have to use WebCT. All of them are available for
free and when you access the Student Tutorial browser tune-up it will tell you
if they are installed on your computer and if not where and how to download
them. The plug-ins you may need are RealPlayer, QuickTime, ShockTime, and
Acrobat Reader.
