Name at top.  Essays to be typed, double-spaced

To formulate your essays, you should use your notes from class, the data in your text and, your own thoughtful
consideration of the works and issues. I am looking for a fully-developed synthesis
This is not a research project. DO NOT USE WEB MATERIAL -- it will result in a ZERO for the exam.
For any sources that you do use, cite your sources.
First, in list form, at the top of the essay, identify each of the works in a pairs, with movement/style, title, artist,
location (for architecture), and date.
Then, for that pair of slides, write a UNIFIED essay, using complete sentences, in which you discuss the works
in relationship to one other. State what the purpose of the comparison would be, and evaluate the similarities

and the differences between each two. Consider the purpose of each and its significance within the stylistic or historical

period in which it was created, as well as how it reflects that time and place.
Use proper terminology and explain what the terms mean, as appropriate.
Also consider: media, size, style, location, etc., as appropriate. Do not write a separate essay for each work in a pair.
