The minutes from the last meeting were reviewed and approved as printed.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Clois Reese will updated the Staff Advisory Council Bookmarks to state UWG instead of SUWG and have them reprinted.
B. Clois passed around the new employee information that HR distributes for the Staff Advisory Council members to review. Staff Advisory Council Bookmarks will soon be included in this material.
C. The Staff Advisory Council discussed a logo for the Staff Advisory Conference in 2002. Alex Young and Erma Shooks will work on this project. If anyone has any ideas, please contact one of them.
D. Clois informed the Staff Advisory Council that over $550.00 was collected for the “Brunch for Toys” project. This project provides gifts for underprivileged children. Clois will send thank-you notes to the TCPA, Jamie at ARA
E. A bakesale was not held in January.
F. Clois informed the Staff Advisory Council Board Meeting will be held on February 23, 2001 at 10:00am, location to be announced. Clois encouraged members to attend.
G. Clois informed the Staff Advisory Council that she had received an e-mail regarding biweekly payroll policies at other institutions. She will forward this e-mail to other members for their input.
H. Clois informed the Staff Advisory Council that there has been some discussion among UGA staff and faculty of increasing the annual leave after 20 years of service. She will forward this e-mail to other members for their review.
I. Clois discussed a staff directory with pictures. This idea
will be discussed at future meetings. Price of publishing will have
to be investigated.
NEW BUSINESS
A. Clois welcomed Rich Brown from the Continuing Education Department to our meeting. Rich discussed ways the Continuing Education Department could help the Staff Advisory Council on hosting the Staff Advisory Council Conference in 2002. The Staff Advisory Council and the Continuing Education would develop a budget to host the conference. Continuing Education would assist with mailing the registrations and all the facility scheduling, hotel accommodations, food, printing of programs and conference evaluations etc. Details will be discussed at later meetings.
B. The Staff Advisory Council discussed charging vendors for setting up space on campus to display their items. Erma Shooks will be checking into this option.
C. The Staff Advisory Council discussed several ideas, speakers and entertainment for the conference. These ideas will be discussed in detail at later meetings.
D. Jill Wright will contact Public Safety regarding using the campus buses and parking decals for visitors during the conference.
E. The Staff Advisory Council discussed developing teams to work on different aspects needed for the conference.
F. The Staff Advisory Council discussed employees being able to use the Health Center for medical purposes instead of going off campus. This idea has been addressed before, however this issue might need a review at future time.
G. The Staff Advisory Council discussed putting the announcement for the SAC meeting on the all staff or list serve mailing list. Jill will look into this idea.
