Mike Johnson
joined the University of West Georgia faculty in 2006.
He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Iowa State
University in 2001, M.S. in Sociology from Iowa State
University in 1999, B.A. in Sociology and Psychology
from St. Ambrose University in Iowa in 1996, and A.A. in
Social Work from Scott Community College in Iowa in
1993. His teaching, research, and applied interests are
in juvenile delinquency, delinquency prevention and
intervention, victimization, criminological theory, and
deviance and mental health. He has published on the
topics of criminal justice system involvement and youth
crime, victim blaming, and criminal victimization and
depression in Youth & Society, the Journal of
Social Psychology, and the Czech Sociological
Review.
