Review Sheet for Test 4

This test covers chapter 12 and consists of 20 questions.

Possible topics include:

1. Translations

o       On dot paper

o       On grid paper

o       Given the image, find the pre-image

o       Given two figures, recognize that a translation was performed

1. Rotations
• On dot paper
• On grid paper
• Given the image, find the pre-image
• Given two figures, recognize that a rotation was performed
• Perform a rotation in a specified direction by a certain angle measure (we did this in class with pattern blocks)
2. Reflections
• On dot paper
• On grid paper
• With a MIRA
• Given two figures, recognize that a reflection was performed
3. Glide Reflections
• On dot paper
• Given two figures, recognize that a glide reflection was performed
4. Symmetries
• Recognize and explain why a figure has line symmetry, rotational symmetry, and/or point symmetry
• Draw the lines of symmetry of a figure
• State the angles of rotational symmetry for a figure
5. Tessellations
• Given a figure on dot paper, tessellate the plane with that figure
• What regular polygons can be used to create a regular tessellation and why.  The explanation should be based on information from class
6. Size transformations
• Given a center and r, perform a transformation
• Given two figures, (one the image of the other after a size transformation) locate the center and find r.
• Given two figures (one the image of the other after a size transformation) and various lengths of the figures, find a missing length
