UWG quarterback visits Carrollton Rotary Club
May 30, 2007 -
The Carrollton Rotary Club heard a presentation on the campaign to build a football stadium at the University of West Georgia.
Keats Baldwin, UWG football player and contender for next fall’s starting quarterback position, shared the hopes of the athletes that UWG would soon have a sense of belonging that will come with having their own home field.
“As my Mother says, it’s hard to cook in someone else’s kitchen and it’s hard to feel at home when you are really always a guest in someone else’s stadium.”
While UWG is extremely grateful for the opportunity to play at Grisham Stadium, Baldwin also noted that thousands of Gulf South opponents have come to Carrollton but have never seen the UWG campus.
Tommy Greer, local attorney and member of the Stadium Development Committee, also spoke to the Club and challenged the community to dream of what can be and ask “why not?”
