Alpha Gamma Delta is an international woman's fraternity that is
devoted to aiding women through their college years. Founded in
1904, Alpha Gamma Delta focuses on perfecting a woman through philanthropy,
scholastics, and sisterhood. Being an Alpha Gam means not only being
the best, but taking pride in being the best.
Our philanthropy is the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, which benefits
diabetes. Each year Alpha Gam puts together events such as rose
and raffle sales, clothing drives, and the annual Alpha Gam Bowling
Jam to raise money for the fight against diabetes. Other local events
that are sisters are involved in are Relay for Life, Marathon, and
the Carroll County Rape Crisis Center. Many of our sisters are involved
with activities on campus for example, the Student Government Association,
Student Activities Council,Marathon Committee, BSU, UWG Dance Team,
Leadership To Go, and numerous other organizations. We are very
active in West Georgia's intramural program and Greek activities
(video night and Greek week). No matter where you go, Alpha Gams
can always be seen sporting their bright GREEN jerseys.
Sisterhood is a major part of being an Alpha Gam. It is more than
just meetings and showing up to events; it is listening, giving
advice,laughing, and most importantly, loving. The ties that bind
our sisters are not around our wrists, but rather are fastened to
our hearts. We plan trips and activities to enhance our life-long
friendships. Most of our time is spent having sisterhood movie nights,
shopping together, hanging out at parties,and spending quality time.
Alpha Gams love to develop our sisterhood through socials, formals,
and date night activities. Each year we host the Rosebud semi-formal,
Pearl Formal, Purple Passion crush party, and countless socials,
date-nights, and double crush parties!
Alpha Gamma Delta is more than letters on a shirt, a gold pin,
songs, and rituals. It is tradition in excellence and lasting friendships,
respecting others as well as yourself, and gaining confidence to
help you take life one step at a time. Alpha Gamma Delta is not
what you have become, it is what you have always been.
