Departmental/Educational

Academic Research and Creative Humanities - (bmarong1@my.westga.edu) Is an interdisciplinary student organization devoted to the support and celebration of student research and their creative efforts at the University of West Georgia

Anthropological Society - (ccalvo1@my.westga.edu) Provides an opportunity for students to gain cultural experience as well as achieve a state of open-mind through the cultural experiences of teachers and other outside sources.  As an organization we would like to make everyone feel welcomed and create a group bond that will extend to any new member who arrives.

American Chemical Society - (bmarong1@my.westga.edu)

Collegiate Music Educators National Conference - (mr.silvestri@gmail.com) Is the largest recognized music association in the world.  The purpose is to afford students an opportunity for professional orientation and development while still in school, and to enable students to gain an understanding of the basic truths and principles that underlie the role of music in human life: the philosophy and function of the music education profession; the professional interests of members involved in the local, state, division, and national level; the music industry’s role in support of music education; and the knowledge and practices of the professional music educator as facilitated through chapter activity.

Computer Science Women Of West Georgia - (npaguag1@westga.edu) Is an organization to build a sense of community for students in the CS department.  We are a social and academic organization that just started again this semester.

Eclectic, Art, & Literary Magazine - (eclectic@westga.edu) For over 65 years Eclectic has been published at the UWG.  Originally, the magazine featured authors and artists from the University as well as submissions from the literary world at large.  Currently, Eclectic features writing, artworks, and more recently music created uniquely by our University students.

Economics Club - (dallen3@my.westga.edu)

Finance Club - (jmccord2@my.westga.edu) Is open to Finance majors and all students who are interested in finance, banking, and investment.  Activities of the Finance club includes:  Discussion about topics of current interest, field trip to companies of the finance industry, helping members prepare for the job market, resume preparation, and networking.

Geoscience Club - (ebusse1@my.westga.edu) We are an organization willing to volunteer to our community and encourage enthusiasm in the Geosciences.

Honors Coucil - (mbyrd1@my.westga.edu) The student governing body within the Honors Council controls the budget for all other Honors activities. Made up of students in official, elected positions, the Honors Council meets once a month; meetings are open to all Honors students.

Hope/First Year Mentoring - (XLMentor@westga.edu) Are specially trained upper class students who assist incoming freshman with their transition to college.  Our mentors build one-on-one relationships with incoming freshmen to maintain academic and social excellence at the University of West Georgia.

Lambda Alpha Epsilon - (mtowns1@westga.edu)

Management Club - (bclenney@westga.edu) Is an excellent opportunity to network with those that are entering the management field, to stay on top of current events that affect managers today, and to show a professional interest in your line of work.

Student Athlete Advisory Council - (critchi3@westga.edu) Is a group of student athletes who have joined together to better the relationship between the athletes and the community. Through various activities we attempt to unite both the campus and community through the student athlete.

UTV-13 - (dburden1@my.westga.edu) Is a student television station established in the Mass Communication Department of the University of West Georgia to give Mass Communication students, primarily television production students, an opportunity to utilize the skills they acquire in class.  In addition, UTV-13 will provide quality television programming to the University of West Georgia community by broadcasting content that informs, entertains, and educates.

Honorary

Alpha Phi Sigma - (pbaker2@my.westga.edu) Is the nationally recognized honor society for students in the criminal justice sciences.  The society recognizes academic excellence by undergraduates as well as graduate students of criminal justice.

Alpha Psi Omega - (tilten42@my.westga.edu) Is a national honorary society for theatre students that have shown outstand dedication, admirable effort, and responsible leadership in art. APO exist to stimulate interests in theatre activities and to secure the advantages provided by a large national honorary society.

Beta Gamma Sigma - (lrunyan@westga.edu) The invitation to membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is extended only to the academically highest 10% of second-semester juniors, 10% of seniors, and 20% of graduates of AACSBI accredited institutions.  It is the highest honor the Richards College of Business can bestow.  Beta Gamma Sigma candidates are presented their invitation in class during the spring semester.  During the presentation/ceremony they were congratulated on behalf of the Richards College of Business for their excellent academic achievement and invited to become a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the national scholastic honor society for outstanding students in accredited college of business.

Gamma Theta Upsilon - (charlmil@gmail.com) Is an international honor society in geography.  Members of GTU have met academic requirements and share a background and interest in geography.  GTU goals are:  To further professional interest in Geography by offering a common organization for those interested in the field.  To strengthen student and professional training through academic experiences in addition to those of the classroom and laboratory.  To create and administer funds for graduate student and research in the field of geography. 

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars - (nscs@westga.edu) Recognizes outstanding first and second year college students and offers a wide variety of opportunities for involvement on the campus community, and national level.  The benefits of life-time membership include recognition, access to exclusive NSCS programs, networking, and career resources, opportunities to apply for scholarships, leadership development, social, and service activities on campus, and Alumni programs. 

Omicron Delta Epsilon - (jmurphy@westga.edu) Recognizes scholastic achievement in economics.

Omicron Delta Kappa - (gregarnold_05@yahoo.com) Is our most prestigious leadership society.  Selection is based on exemplary character, responsible leadership, and service in campus life, superior scholarship, genuine fellowship, and consecration to democratic ideals.  Membership is conferred upon those students who have attained special distinction in more than one of the following categories:  Scholarship, Athletics, Social Service, Religious Activities, Campus Government, Journalism, Creative Writing, and Performing Arts.  Those eligible for membership are UWG juniors, seniors, or graduate students who have placed in the top 35 percent of their respective class and have maintained at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA (including transfer credits).

Phi Sigma Pi - (Lmikovi1@my.westga.edu) Is a co-ed Honor Fraternity. We participate in service and scholarship as well as social events. There is a requirement for membership.

Sigma Tau Delta - (pdesnoe1@my.westga.edu) Is an international honor society designed to recognize and foster academic excellence; it is open to students majoring or minoring in English.  At West Georgia, it’s also an active club open to all interested majors.  In the past, the club has sponsored poetry readings, theater trips, film nights, student colloquia, purely social gatherings, and a wide range of other events.  For two consecutive years we have organized a faculty reading to benefit the Carroll County Soup Kitchen, a highly successful event.  Last year, in conjunction with UWG literary magazine The Eclectic, we brought the acclaimed poet B.H. Fairchild to campus, drawing record crowds.

International/Cultural

African Student Association - (uwgasa@gmail.com) Is an organization that will encourage interaction between students of African origin and students interested in African affairs. It will also serve as a social group to reduce stereotypes of the African continent.

Black Student Alliance - (bsa@westga.edu) serves as a voice and a place for black students at the University of West Georgia. The purpose of BSA is to protect and advance the interest of Blacks here at West Georgia, as well as providing assistance in giving Black Students a positive concept of themselves. BSA cultivates and promotes a general knowledge of Black culture, here and abroad, past, present, and future. BSA makes an effort to determine what specific concerns need to be addressed. These concerns are made evident through the numerous programs, services, and activities sponsored throughout the year. Also, BSA are the facilitators of the Black Cultural Center, a place in which students can learn more about Black history, as well as use as a study and meeting place.

Caribbean Student Association - (uwgcaribsa@gmail.com)

International Student Club - (o.akigbogun@gmail.com) Is an organization consisting of all the international students at the University.  Its main goals and purpose are to learn more about the lifestyle and culture of the United States as well as other countries, to inform other people about various cultures all over the world and to host the annual International Night.  The club is open to all international students as well as any students or faculty members of UWG interested in carrying out its goals and purposes.

Japanese Culture Club - (kschues1@my.westga.edu) Strives to achieve knowledge through media, of the Japanese culture.  The goal of the club is to achieve knowledge of the culture while having fun and making great friends in the process.

Lambda - (lambda@westga.edu) We are the gay/straight alliance at the University of West Georgia. We are an activist and social organization that supports GLBTQIA people, allies, and issues. Coming out here is safe and confidential, and it is a great place to meet new people and gain new opportunities.

Latino Cultural Society - (latino@westga.edu) Is an organization that has outreaching goals to the campus and outside community.  We want to spread Hispanic cultural awareness to the people.  It always good for others to learn about the Latino ways of life and to provide the opportunity for more diversity on campus.

South Asian Student Association - (sasa@seasa.org) Is an organization that introduces the culture and flavor of the sub-continent with some spice to fellow South Asians and other students belonging to various Cultures.  Celebrate the tradition and festivals from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.  Join us and be part of something truly spectacular.

Political

College Republicans - (dbachma1@my.westga.edu) To bring college students into the Republican Party and to provide an opportunity for them to find political expression and recognition; to foster and encourage the activities of the Republican Party and to promote its ideals; to collect, analyze, discuss, and disseminate information concerning political  affairs and political philosophy; and to sponsor and conduct meetings, conferences, campus events, and speaker forums.  We encourage you to join our facebook group “College Republicans” University of West Georgia division.

NAACP - (naacp_uwg@yahoo.com) Is an extension of the national chapter.  We are here to keep students aware of social and political issues through the use of knowledge.  NAACP holds programs that will stimulate the minds of students and encourage them to participate in making the world a better place for our humankind.

Young Democrats of West GA - (skylerakins@gmail.com) Serves to engage young voters in Democratic Politics and in the Political process.  We also work to elect State, Local, and National Democrats to public office, and to spread our values of Democracy to the West GA Community.

Professional

Accounting Club - (sondras@westga.edu) Consists of a group of students and faculty that share an interest in financial and managerial accounting.  Membership in the Accounting Club has many benefits.  We focus on helping students prepare themselves to enter the business world.  Members have access to a great array of information as well as many opportunities to meet business leaders from around the greater Atlanta area.  We also participate in various community service activities and cooperate with the institute of Management Accountants Atlanta Chapter and the Georgia Society of CPA’s West Georgia Chapter.  Becoming a member will greatly enhance your ability to become a successful member of the business society.

Aggressive Leadership - (marcuslamar@bellsouth.net) Is an organization that gives students the necessary tools and skills to develop as emerging leaders through activities designed for learning about being a leader not only in your colligate career but also in your career beyond college. We want to provide training and skills to empower young future leaders of this country to participate in discussions of the nation current issues through forums, seminars, and actively purse the commitment of servicing our communities.

Alpha Kappa Psi - (nball1@my.westga.edu) Is an international co-ed professional business fraternity that is recognized as the premier developer of principled business leaders.  Alpha Kappa Psi has 200,000 plus members and the fraternity’s core values are Brotherhood, knowledge, Integrity, Service, and Unity.  Founded in 1904 at the New York University, Alpha Kappa Psi has prominent alumni such as President Ronald Reagan, President Richard Nixon, as well as University President Beheruz N. Sethna.  The main focus of Alpha Kappa Psi is to provide leadership development, personal & professional training, and the fundamental ingredient higher education misses experience.

American Medical Student Association - (aali1@my.westga.edu) To provide a learning environment for students dedicated to the pursuit of a medical career, through activities and projects geared torwards medical education and the health care profession.  We aim for cultivated well-rounded students who will eventually become promising healthcare providers.

Association for Computing Machinery - (lewisb@westga.edu) Is a student organization open to all students with an interest in computer science.  Our goal is to serve as a community of social activity for students with an interest in computer science and to encourage enrichment and achievement in this exciting field.

Georgia Association of Nursing Students - (adavis5@my.westga.edu) Is an organization that meets regularly to promote student needs that may be present, and to meet those needs whenever possible.  GANS is affiliate of the National Student Nurses Association, the largest independent health professional organization in the country and the national organization for nursing students.  Any student in a state-approved nursing education program or any RN who is enrolled in a baccalaureate nursing program is eligible for membership in NSNA.  Membership offers many benefits including scholarship and loan opportunities, reduced malpractice rates, career planning assistance, a material convention, reduced rates, and discounts on study materials, as well as opportunities to meet and network with other nursing students and health care facilities.

Minority Association of Pre-Health Students - (rwaters1@my.westga.edu) Is an organization that strives to prepare and support minority students aspiring to enter into the healthcare field, by providing students with the knowledge, skills, and experience required to successfully pursue a healthcare career.

National Student Speech Language Hearing Association - (angelicagunn@hotmail.com)

Sport Management Society - (sms@westga.edu) The purpose of the Sport Management Society is to stimulate, encourage, and enhance professional development in the field of sport management.  Major goals:  To gather and share information pertaining to sport management with members of SMS, to develop leadership opportunities with SMS, to promote unity among students, faculty, and professionals in the field, to provide networking opportunities through attendance at various professional meetings and conferences.

Student Chapter of the Council for Exceptional Children - (ykitta1@my.westga.edu) Is the primary professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted.  CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides continual professional development, advocates for newly and historically underserved individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.

Students In Free Enterprise - (crabern@westga.edu) Is a global non-profit organization active in more than 40 countries.  SIFE is funded by financial contributions from corporations, entrepreneurs, foundations, government agencies, and individuals.  Working in partnership with business and higher education, SIFE establishes student teams on university campuses.  These teams are led by faculty advisors and they are challenged to develop community outreach projects that reach SIFE’s five educational topics:  Market Economics, Success Skills, Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy, and Business Ethics.

Recreational

Diamond Dolls Dance Team - (uwgdiamonddolls@yahoo.com) Is to further the interest and abilities of experienced dancers in the West Georgia area.  This team provides  additional school spirit as well as an outlet to perform and be part of a group that shares ability and talent in dance.  Students will have the opportunity to participate in athletic, social, and competive opportunities on and off the UWG campus.

Judo Club - (chevy31315@hotmail.com) Is an actively competitive club that participates in local and regional level tournaments.  We strive for excellence in our martial art, a Japanese system of throwing and grappling techniques.  The club is very beginner friendly, and no prior martial arts experience is necessary.
 
The Wolfpack - (wolfpackorganization@yahoo.com) Is a group of individuals who play sports together.  We travel across the county to perform, as well as here on campus.  We support every aspect of sports because we believe that sports bring people together in a way like no other.  Sports allows us to relax and just enjoy the game.

Religious

Baptist Collegiate Ministries - (bcm@westga.edu) Is sponsored by the Georgia Baptist Convention, but it is open to all students, regardless of denomination or religion. As a Student Organization, BCM is seeking to have more and better followers of Christ. Our aim is not to mold people into our likeness, but to share the love of Christ actively with believers and non-believers. Christ footed the bill for our sins, and we would like for everyone to know the freedom that comes from knowing him. If you are interested in learning more about this freedom Christ, or if you’re just looking for a place to hang out, we’d love for you to stop by!

Bethel Campus Fellowship - (falabi1@my.westga.edu) Provides regular opportunity to study the bible, worship, and pray, all in a group, which provides opportunities for fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual development among members.  We believe in the infallibility of the scripture, the death, and the resurrection of our lord Jesus Christ, the present and continuing work of the holy sprit.

Campus Crusade for Christ - (uwgcampuscrusade@gmail.com) Offers a place where Christians students can connect with other Christians and grow in their faith.  Campus Crusade also equips students to walk with God for a lifetime and have an impact for Christ on the campus and the world.

Campus Outreach - (tmahan@campusoutreach.org) is an inter-denominational ministry.  We are on campus to provide UWG students with a comfortable environment to learn about the person of Jesus Christ and how he affects all of life.

Catholic Life - (jhb_3490@yahoo.com) Is a Student Organization that creates and supports a Catholic presence on campus.  At our meetings, we discuss and celebrate our spirituality.  Community service and volunteer projects for our community are also a large part of the organization.  Catholics, friends of Catholics, and anyone interested in the Catholic faith are all welcome to come.

Christian Campus Fellowship - (ccf@uwgccf.org) Exists to love students into a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ.  We seek to reach out to the students on campus as we develop students currently involved in our ministry.  Our goal is simple:  Love God and Love People. 

Crosspoint - (creynol6@my.westga.edu) Is a Student Ministry open to anyone! We meet Monday nights at 8:00pm. Join us for fellowship, worship, and fun!

Daughter of Zion - (epearso2@my.westga.edu) Is dedicated to seeing College Students live a productive life on campus.  We present the gospel of Jesus Christ to all.  We are a outreach ministry.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes - (ebutts@westga.edu) Is a national Christian organization with a ministry based on sports.  The local campus organization provides students, athletes, and coaches opportunities to connect, share and grow spiritually through small group team huddles as well as joint group meetings and special events.  The FCA is a mentoring, service based organization with the mission to introduce, impact, and influence teammates and classmates to discover the victories of life through Christ.

Prayer Campus Ministries - (sclemon1@my.westga.edu) Is a college outreach ministry of First Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Bradley Bell. Our vision is to seek those that are lost & lead them to Christ by ministering to human hurts, encouraging, nurturing our brothers and sisters toward spiritual maturity; cultivating a fruitful life for all believers and to walk in the power freely given after you enter redemption.

United Voices Gospel - (uvgc@westga.edu) Is a special organization that supports the spiritual, educational, and emotional success of its members and surrounding peers.

Wesley Foundation/Fish House - (uwgwesley@earthlink.net) Is an organization that ministers to the spiritual, intellectual, and social development of students at the University of West Georgia.

Young Adult Bible Study - (NLCYABS@msn.com) Is an informal non-denomination Bible Study and more.  A great club that discusses Godly principals, value, and God’s love.  A place where you can meet a friend, find support, and encouragement.  The I can, let’s take a trip, need a job connection, someone to talk too, a whole lot of love, encouragement, get a great meal, meet a friend, they have awesome teachers club.  Did we mention they can really cook too!

Zion Campus Ministry - (superjoe40@aol.com) An organization committed to serving the community of Jesus Christ.  We believe in making students of our organization productive in every aspect of their lives.

Service Organizations

Alpha Phi Omega - (saigbel@my.westga.edu) Is the largest national co-ed service fraternity.  The purpose of this co-ed fraternity is to assemble college students in a national service Fraternity to develop leadership, to promote friendship, and most importantly provide service to humanity.

Gamma Sigma Sigma - (bcarter1@my.westga.edu) Is a national service based sorority based on the ideals of service, friendship, & equality.  Founded in 1952 our goal is to provide service to all humanity and develop friendship among all students of all races & creeds.

University Ambassadors - (ambass@westga.edu) Is a Student organization that assists the office of admissions with recruitment.  This volunteer organization is responsible for providing tours of the campus to prospective students, hosting preview day, attending high schools, college fairs, and much more!

Social

Commuter Student Association - (commuter@my.westga.edu) Is a network that connects commuter students to promote a sense of community. CSA supports and encourages campus involvement among commuters. CSA serves as a resource, as well as addresses commuter students need and issues. The Commuter Student Association provides academic and social support, and helps new commuter students adjust and transition into life at UWG. The Commuter Student Association is open to all students who currently live off campus or have previously lived off campus.

Entertainment Group - (tnixon1@my.westga.edu)

Free verse the experience - (eyoung1@my.westga.edu) The Free Verse Experience is a "free expression" outlet for all students, faculty, staff, and anyone else in the Carrollton community.  It was created to provide a safe and relaxed form of entertainment where individuals can express their creativity through the use of acoustical instruments, vocals, or poetry. Simply, Art for the sake of Art.

Student Activities Council - (stuacts@westga.edu) Is a student organization whose purpose is to provide co-curricular activities for the West Georgia community. Our mission is to provide a number of diverse cultural, recreational, social, educational, and entertainment programs, and is implemented through seven program committees. These committees are: Special Presentations, Publicity, Public Relations, Live Entertainment, Multicultural, Novelty, and University Traditions. The president, vice presidents of recruitment and finance, secretary and chair people create the “Executive Board.” Together, the chair people and their committee members are responsible for planning and producing a variety of events. SAC is funded by the students of West Georgia through a portion of their activity fee that is allocated to us.

Women of Diversity - (womenofdiversityuwg@yahoo.com) Is one of the newest organizations on campus.  This organization promotes personal, educational, and career development and encourages giving back to the community through volunteerism and mentoring.  Open to all who wish to join.

Social Greek

Alpha Gamma Delta - (ewatson1@my.westga.edu) Is a women's fraternity founded at Syracuse University in 1904.  The Gamma Tau Chapter at University of West Georgia focuses on building leadership skills, contributing to the community through philanthropic events, while developing strong friendships, and maintaining high scholastic achievement.

Alpha Tau Omega - (aottman1@my.westga.edu) Has a very active role on campus and in the community.  Over the last few years, brothers have been taking leadership roles in various campus organizations.  Brothers have also raised thousands of dollars for nonprofit organizations by compiling thousands of hours community service.  We are always looking for new members.  The important thing that we recognize is that being in a fraternity is a two-way street.

Alpha Xi Delta - (lahlovesazd@yahoo.com) Was founded on the principles of loyalty, service, and sisterhood.  As one of the oldest and largest national sororities in the country, we participate in many activities on campus and in the community.  Our philanthropy is Choose Children, which means that we volunteer our time to help any children’s organization in this community.  We are the only national organization sorority that encourages service for our philanthropy instead of just raising and donating money.  The sisters of Zeta Omega chapter are fortunate to have a clear vision of life that develops from living the reality of a true sisterhood of women.

Chi Omega - (lconnel1@my.westga.edu) We are proud of the programs we offer, including band parties, socials, study hall, sports, and above all strong friendships.  In addition to academics, there is much more to be learned in college.  Personal growth and development are also essential but often overlooked in the classroom routine.  This is where life can be important to an individual, we add a personal touch, a group of friends learning, growing, and sharing together.

Delta Chi - (dcarmic1@my.westga.edu) Is West Georgia’s newest fraternity on campus.  In  a short time we have hosted several social activities with various sororities, held yearly formals and participated in various intramural spots throughout the year.  Our fraternity has many men of fine character, who all exemplify the meaning of brotherhood inside and out.

Delta Delta Delta - (preeves1@my.westga.edu) The ladies of Tri Delta strive to excel in academics, campus involvement, and community service.  Each year we host activities and events which raise money for our national Philanthropy, St Jude Children’s cancer research.  Tri-Deltas offer support, love, and security to all of their sisters.  Delta Delta Delta has dedicated itself and its members to broadening the horizons of young women.  Tri-Delta allows women the opportunity to achieve their hopes and dreams.

Kappa Alpha Order - (wsmith10@my.westga.edu) Was founded in 1865 at Washington& Lee University.  With 128 chapters & 141,000 initiated members, KA continues to be a leader among fraternities.  With our spiritual founder, Robert E. Lee, we live up to the highest ideals & morals that we are based upon.  KA here at West Georgia is a truly close-knit brotherhood in which we have a great deal of pride to be a KA & are honored to wear the letters.

Kappa Sigma - (jdoss1@my.westga.edu) Was chartered at the University of West Georgia on April 2, 1971.  Kappa Sigma is the first national fraternity chartered at UWG.  Kappa Sigma is based on the four pillars of  success:  Scholarship, fellowship, leadership, and service.  The fraternity was founded in Bologna, Italy in 1400 at the University of Bologna, but in America at the University of Virginia on December 10, 1869.  The Lambda-Delta chapter of Kappa Sigma is the winning 2007 Picklesheimer Award winner and the 2007 Greek week champions.

Interfraternity Council - (mskelto2@my.westga.edu) In joining a fraternity, you become a member of the fraternity system, a system which encompasses all nine of UWG’s National Interfraternity Conference fraternities and everyone on the system’s 300 plus members.  Nearly 13% of West Georgia’s university men are part of the Interfraternity Council system, working together on philanthropic projects, and all kinds of activities.  The Interfraternity Council provides many opportunities for involvement in campus life and the Greek system outside your individual fraternity.

Iota Phi Theta - (epsilonxiiota@yahoo.com) Is a fraternity that will bring the true meaning of Greek life to the University of West Georgia.  Although being new to the campus, the fraternity will continue to grow because of those students who are not following the crowd.  This fraternity believes in individuality.  We want real men who have good grades and are business-oriented.  Like our motto, “Building a Tradition, Not Resting Upon One.”  We are building at West GA.

Kappa Alpha Psi - (dwilli12@my.westga.edu) Membership is a solemn commitment.  To this fraternity, the maker of the commitment becomes synonymous with the commitment itself.  Membership is Kappa Alpha Psi is a lifelong dedication to the ideals and lofty purposes of Kappa Alpha Psi, which considers for membership only those aspirants whose personal, social, and academic qualifications are acceptable to both the college and fraternity.

Kappa Delta - (amandaleighkd@yahoo.com) Contain unique but united young women.  You will find a variety of personalities when you look at these women.  Some may be into sports while others will find different organizations on campus to be involved in.  Kappa Delta’s national philanthropies are the National Committee to Prevent Child Abuse, the Kappa Delta Fund for Children in need, the Children’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, and the Orthopedic Awards.  Kappa Delta’s local philanthropies are the mile pick-up, adopt a family, and nursing home visits.  Throughout all of Kappa Delta’s endeavors, both locally and nationally, these sisters always strive for that which is honorable, beautiful, and highest.

National Pan-hellenic Council - (msmith25@my.westga.edu) Is currently composed of nine (9) International Greek letter Sororities and Fraternities:  Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Phi Beta Sigma Fraterity, Inc. and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.  NPHC promotes interaction through forums, meetings, and other mediums for the exchange of information and engages in cooperative programming and initiatives through various activities and functions.

Panhellenic Council - (cfraser1@my.westga.edu) Is an organization that consists of the sororities and fraternities of the divine nine.  NPHC is a organization that looks our for the well-being of the Black greek fraternities and sororities.  Also NPHC cooperates with members of IFC & Panhellenic.  The main purpose is to focus on the needs of individual students around campus.

Pi Kappa Alpha - (kmartin5@my.westga.edu) Was founded on March 1, 1868 at the University of Virginia.  The motto for Pi Kappa Alpha is to produce scholars, leaders, athletes, and gentlemen.  Known as pikes nationally, we strive ourselves in the classroom, on the athletic fields, and around the community.

Pi Kappa Phi - (tduff1@my.westga.edu) Continues t exemplify excellence in academics, athletics, and social activities.  Service is our number one priority through our philanthropy push America which is owned and operated by our national organization.  Since our existence we have never dropped below the top 4 in grades.  If you are seeking a fraternity with a strong brotherhood and a desire to be the best seek no further than Pi Kappa Phi.

Phi Mu - (bmcguir2@my.westga.edu) Is the second oldest sorority in the world, being founded in 1852.  Phi Mu can be known for its three ideals: Love, Honor, and Truth.  We all have different college experiences but we share a bond of sisterhood. Our colors are rose & white and our symbol is the lion.

Rho Lambda - (lyoung6@my.westga.edu) Was founded at the University of West GA on September 24, 2003.  With over 30 members Theta Delta is a growing chapter of Rho Lambda.  The Greek letters RHO LAMBDA stand for PANHELLENIC LEADERSHIP, respectively.  The purpose of Rho Lambda is to honor those women within the sorority community who have exhibited the highest qualities of leadership and service to their Greek community and their sorority.  They are women who have furthered the ideals and principles of the Greek community throughout their years of sorority affiliation.

Sigma Gamma Rho - (mpoole1@my.westga.edu)

Sigma Nu - (nkuglar1@my.westga.edu) Is the oldest fraternity on campus with 35 years of maintaining the ideals of brotherhood.  Love, Truth, and Honor are the three principles in which Sigma Nu was founded.  Our chapter takes pride in our brotherhood and accomplishment. 

Tau Kappa Epsilon - (West _Georgia_Cole_22@yahoo.com) Is the world’s largest social fraternity with over 280 chapters and 260,000 initiates.  The goal of TKE is to focus on moral, social, and mental development for life.

Zeta Phi Beta - (awarner1@my.westga.edu) Was founded January 16, 1920 on the campus of Howard University.  It is one of the nine black greek letter organizations.  The Omicron Nu Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta was chartered on West GA campus on May 1987 and since inception, we have excelled socially and academically with award winning community involvement and stimulation programs.

Special Interest

The Achievers - (tiger85042004@yahoo.com) Is primarily for the purpose of increasing disability awareness and advocacy opportunities at UWG for students who have mobility limitations.  A secondary purpose is to channel information to the administration concerning campus accessibility needs.

Amnesty International - (swaters3@my.westga.edu) Is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights for all. As an individual chapter at UWG, we hope to work together to overcome human rights violations.

Aviation Club - (jnobring1@my.westga.edu) Is an organization for those interested in aviation as a hobby or even a career.  The club hopes to provide opportunities for those who dream of flying.

Envy Dance Team - (jbaker2@my.westga.edu) Is an organization of students who entertain the audience during half-time for the men’s basketball team.  Our dance style is a mixture of basic dance technique and hip-hop.

Phi Delta - (jivey2@westga.edu) Is a co-ed fraternity that promotes and supports all aspects of music.  Phi Delta was founded at UWG in 2006.  This fraternity purpose is to promote programs and activities that exemplify the love of music in the community.  Phi Delta was established in order to give students who love music a chance to meet with one another and exchange ideas, broaden individual outlooks, and to provide support for one another.  Members of Phi Delta must demonstrate a love for music and a desire for the advancement of music.

Society for Creative Anachronisms - (bushyboy311@yahoo.com) Is a group at West Georgia that consists of students, staff, and faculty dedicated to researching & recreating life of pre 17th Century Europe.  The SCA is a group that spans the globe and has tens of thousands members.

Student Anti-Genocide Coalition - (stand.uwg@hmail.com)

Student Fashion Association - (mbrown17@my.westga.edu) The SFA provides a link from the UWG campus to the fashion industry.  This organization will help enhance one’s skills in any one of the areas in fashion, from fashion design, and to art direction.

Versatile - (amanson1@my.westga.edu) Is a promotional group.  We promote uplifting, inspiring, encouraging music, and theatre arts.  We give students avenue to express, elevate their arts to educate a large audience on ways to view their life (as far as purpose), and art.  Versatile brings voices to the unheard, giving people with inspiring arts, and exceptional talents a foundation and/or backbone of support.

Student Government Association - (rkelly2@my.westga.edu) Is a student advocacy group that serves as a liaison between UWG administration and students. SGA helps implement programs, events, and other things that help advance UWG student experience. The primary focus of SGA is to address UWG the students’ concerns.
