Extreme Guitar Duo

Saturday, November 17 - 5:00 and 7:30pm

Keith Knight and Don Alder

“Keith Knight’s jaw-dropping, fingerstyle playing puts him on the bus with pickers like Chris Proctor and Leo Kottke.” ~ The State Newspaper, Columbia, SC

Extreme Guitar Duo is a collaboration of two world-class guitarists & composers, Keith Knight and Don Alder. Their show is an adrenaline rush that leaves no fret untouched. From Appalachian, Delta blues and ragtime to gypsy, bluegrass and calypso, EGD performances include 12 & 6 string wood guitars, harp and resonator guitars, dobro, mandolin and vocals.

Hailing from Vancouver, Alder’s unique style of playing incorporates fingerpicking with simultaneous percussion on the soundboard. A master of both the ascoustic and harp guitar, Don has won several international guitar competitions as well as U.K. Guitar Idol and Canada’s Got Talent. A Native American now residing in Portland, Knight breathes new life into traditional genres. His high-energy finger picking and sophisticated melodic compositions bridge the gap of music listeners. A reviewer with The Mountaineer in Waynesville, NC declared Keith “the illegitimate son of Bill Monroe and Eddie Van Halen.”

Alder can make a single instrument sound like a four piece band.
The guy's like the acoustic Hendrix!
