Under the direction of Dr. Daniel F. Bakos, the UWG Jazz Ensemble hosts jazz trumpeter Marvin Stamm. Throughout his distinguished career, Stamm has been praised for both the art and craft of trumpet playing. Leonard Feather stated, “Stamm is an accomplished performer whose technical skill is used as a means to original ends.” While attending North Texas State University, Stamm was discovered by Stan Kenton. He performed with Kenton's orchestra as trumpet soloist, recording five albums. Afterwards, he toured worldwide with Woody Herman. |
