Kruger Brothers Band Pic

Vishtèn performs Acadian, Irish and Scottish music, with fiery fiddling and powerful step dancing front and center. Formed in 2000, the trio is comprised of third generation Acadians: twin sisters Pastelle and Emmanuelle LeBlanc from Prince Edward Island and Pascal Miousse from the Magdalen Islands.

With their percussive footwork driving the rhythm, the band members incorporate fiddle, guitar, accordion, penny whistle, mandolin, piano and bodhran into each performance. Vishtèn recalls the joy and energy of the Acadian kitchen party. The rhythms and melodies are inseparable, reflecting the joie de vire of the Acadian culture of Eastern Canada. Flying fingers, tapping feet, three-part harmony – it’s a thrilling celebration.

It's like Buckwheat Zydeco meets the Irish. The first time I saw them, I loved them!
