I am originally from Hartsville, SC.  Currently, I serve as the Chairman of the Department of Management in the Richards College of Business at the University of West Georgia.

I received my B.S. in Computer Science and Management from Francis Marion University in Florence, SC.  I then earned my M.B.A. from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC.  Finally, after working in industry for about seven years in Hickory, NC, I moved to Columbia, SC and obtained my Ph.D. in Management from the University of South Carolina.

In the Richards College of Business, I generally teach Principles of Management (MGNT 3600), Organizational Behavior (MGNT 3605 and MGNT 6670), Operations Management (MGNT 3615), Human Resource Management (MGNT 4620), and Practical Applications in Human Resource Management (MGNT 4621).

My research includes work on Human Resource Information Systems and Alternative Work Systems.  I have published numerous articles in such journals as Journal of Management, Human Resource Management Journal, Human Resource Development Quarterly, and Journal of Managerial Issues.

For fun, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and participating in a number of sports activities.  Also,  I am a big USC Gamecock fan.  This makes life interesting around so many Georgia Bulldogs.
