Marathon holds auction

CARROLLTON, GA - The Marathon at the University of West Georgia is gearing up for another exciting fund raising event called A Night for Super Heroes Silent Auction on Friday, Jan. 31, from 6-8:30 p.m. in the lower level of Z6.
All proceeds raised from the auction will benefit the second annual Marathon, which raises money for the Children’s Miracle Network. The Marathon is a 12-hour student-organized event that features games, food and entertainment that is often known as “Dance Marathons.” UWG’s Marathon will be held on March 8.
According to Heather Mack, assistant director of student activities, this year’s goal for the Marathon is to exceed last year’s fundraising amount of $12,000.
Spa visits, jewelry, home accessories, tickets to athletic events such as the Atlanta Hawks, and sports items from the University of Georgia and the Atlanta Thrashers will be just some of the items that will be up for auction.
The auction is open to all faculty, staff, students and the community. Please RSVP by Tuesday, Jan. 28, by calling 770-836-6526.
