Music department sponsors Pepetone recital January 31, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - The University of West Georgia Department of Music will sponsor a piano recital by Gregory Pepetone, director of keyboard activities and tenured artist-in-residence at Georgia College & State University. In recent years, Pepetone has received GC&SU awards for both “Excellence in Teaching” and “Excellence in Artistic Endeavor.” In the first half of the performance, Pepetone will play works by Bach-Busoni, Chopin, and Beethoven. The second half of the performance will feature his own composition, “Anglo-American Sentiments,” and a sonata for piano in One Movement called “ Thoreau at Walden Pond” by Clyde Tipton. Pepetone’s performance will end with variations on Shenandoah by Dick Hyman. The recital will take place in Cathy Cashen Hall in the Humanities building on the UWG campus on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 8:15 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
