Show off your photos with PhotoSuite

January 29, 2003

CARROLLTON, GA - Do you want to show off your vacation pictures or pictures from some other special event? It doesn’t matter if they are from 10 years ago or your latest digital photos, the University of West Georgia’s Department of Continuing Education can help you show them to best advantage through its upcoming PhotoSuite course at the Newnan Center.

PhotoSuite is inexpensive software that produces professional-style photos. The course will teach participants how to use the program to edit flaws, adjust lighting, add word balloons and titles, stitch together multiple photos and to use many of the special effects.

Course instructor Roger Brown says the class is appropriate for people with old photos in bad condition or people who don’t know how to use a digital camera to its full potential. According to Brown, this class will also help answer questions such as, “What can I do with all those pictures that I treasure so much?” and “How can I combine all these disjointed photos into a form that can be enjoyed and shared?”

Taking classes at the Newnan Center offers numerous benefits. You don’t have to drive to Atlanta, fight traffic, pay to park and get lost in a large class. Just drive to the Newnan Center on two consecutive Mondays, Feb. 3 and Feb. 10, and enjoy small classes with personal instruction from 9 a.m. to noon.

PhotoSuite software offers editing tools that can be used to restore old, torn or faded photos; remove red-eye, scratches, blemishes or wrinkles; colorize black and white photos; and crop out sections of photos to select specific areas to fix or to enhance with special effects.

The software also enables students to create unique personalized projects such as 360-degree panoramas, slide shows, greeting cards, party invitations and more.

Basic computer skills are needed for the course, which is suitable for most ages. The cost of the course is $59. For more information or to register, contact the Department of Continuing Education at 770-836-6610.
