Black Cultural Resource Center to have grand opening January 26, 2004 CARROLLTON, GA - To kick off Black History month, the Black Student Alliance (BSA) announces the grand opening of the Black Cultural Resource Center on Monday, Feb. 2, in the UCC. According to Le Tressa Walker, student activities program advisor, the center will serve to “increase the awareness of African American achievements, accomplishments and heritage.” The center will contain literature and offer learning resources that focus on African Americans throughout history. Magazines such as Ebony, Jett and Blacks in Higher Learning will be available, as well as many books by authors such as Maya Angelo. Although the literature will not be available to check out, students are welcome to come in and browse. The BSA will hold all of their executive board, committee and general meetings in the center. The center will also be available by approval for students who wish to hold an event or bring in a guest speaker. Kerline Fortune, secretary of BSA, will be in charge of the center.
