Valentine's Day sock drive

CARROLLTON, GA - It’s that time of year again — Sigma Phi Omega, the Gerontological Honor Society, and the Gerontology Program at the University of West Georgia have begun their second annual Valentine’s Day Sock Drive.
Sigma Phi Omega and the Gerontology Program will be collecting socks until noon on Friday, Feb. 13, and donating the socks to area nursing home residents.
According to Michelle Lague, president of Sigma Phi Omega, last year’s tally of paired socks was 318.
“We hope to collect as many socks as last year, if not more, Lague said. “Local nursing home administrators and activity directors are already looking forward to the delivery.
Bring new, paired socks to UWG’s Pafford Hall, Rooms 209B, 217, or 238. For more information, contact the Department of Sociology/Criminology at 770-836- 6505.
