Mid-winter choral concert coming up February 12, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - The Music Department at the University of West Georgia will present its Mid-Winter Choral Concert on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 8:15 p.m. in the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts. The concert is one of several presented annually by the combined choirs and chamber singers directed by Dr. Kevin Hibbard, professor of music. Listeners will hear the “God of Life” from Haydn’s oratorio The Seasons, “Musiks Empire” by Lloyd Pfautsch, “Tenebrae factae sunt” by Marc Antonio Ingegneri, and the “Alleluia” from Songs of Faith by Paul Basler. The choir will also sing three Renaissance madrigals, some contemporary settings of Shakespearean songs, and three Chinese folk songs. The choir will accompany Finnish voice performance student Anna Jaskiewicz, soprano, on “Eriskay Love Lilt” and “Ack, Värmeland.” The concert will end with “Doo-Bop” and a setting of Lewis Carroll’s “Jabberwocky.” The concert is free and open to the public.
