Sexual assault exposition comes to UWG

February 1, 2003

UWG News PhotoCARROLLTON, GA - The University of West Georgia will present a powerful exposition about sexual assault. Under the title “Face to Face-Unheard Voices,” Jason Dilley, an artist from San Francisco, has made masks with faces of sexual assault victims. One can listen to their taped story with headphones while looking at their face.

Debra Dugan, UWG health educator, said, “This is a very powerful presentation, the exhibit is a quiet and personal experience. I found it to be extremely profound and moving.”

Dilley originally worked with persons affected with HIV and then extended his work to include sexual assault victims. He has been to many campuses across the nation, and has made television appearances.

The exhibit is free to the public and will be held in the lobby of the Ingram Library at UWG from Monday, Feb. 17, through Friday, Feb. 21st, during library hours.

For more information, call Dugan at 770-838-3214 or e-mail her at ddugan@westga.edu.
