Music students receive recognition

CARROLLTON,
GA - Four students from the University of West Georgia’s Department
of Music won recognition in the All-College Band at the annual Georgia
Music Educators Association conference held in Savannah. The students
are (l-r) Michael Cater, baritone saxophone, of Carrollton; Stacy Gay,
alto saxophone, of Kennesaw; Chris Carr, clarinet, of Jonesboro; and Jonathan
Broome, euphonium, of Tucker. Each student won the position of principal
chair in their respective instrumental sections. UWG Department of Music
student instrumentalists and choristers participate in the GMEA conference
every year as part of their musicianship training overall University experience.
