GoldKist presents gift for scholarship

CARROLLTON,
GA - Gold Kist employees presented a $2,500 check to officials at the
University of West Georgia for the D.W. Brooks/Gold Kist of West
Georgia Scholarship. On hand for the presentation were: (l-r) George Parmer,
Gold Kist QA manager; Randy Miller, Gold Kist division accounting manager;
Richard Curvin, Gold Kist division manager; Michael Williams, Gold Kist
purchasing manager; Tammy Davis, Gold Kist human resources secretary;
Tim Glenn, Gold Kist division coordinator; Dr. Jack Johnson, UWG dean
of the Richards College of Business; and Scott Huffman, UWG associate
vice president for development and alumni services. All Gold Kist personnel
pictured are either UWG graduates or attendees. The scholarship, established
in 2000 by the company to honor its founder D.W. Brooks, is awarded annually
to a business major with a 3.0 or higher grade point average. The recipient
must be from Carroll, Haralson, or Heard counties in Georgia or Cleburne
or Randolph counties in Alabama.
