Student Activities sponsors LEAD

February 7, 2003

CARROLLTON, GA - The Department of Student Activities at the University of West Georgia is sponsoring the first annual LEAD weekend.

LEAD weekend is a free, one-day, intensive leadership development experience for a limited number of West Georgia students.

The event will take place at the University Community Center, rooms 311 and 312, on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The day will be divided in different sessions: “Getting What You Want From Life,” “Defining Leadership,” “Collaboration and Creativity,” and “Get Up and Get Motivated.”

All the sessions will be lead by Michael Miller, a sought-after speaker whose diverse background gives him a strong knowledge base and well-rounded approach to his presentations. Miller has a master’s degree in Public Administration from Framingham State College, and a bachelor’s degree in English from Fairfield University. He has more than 15 years of experience in administrative and sales positions within University and corporate settings.

Chris Geiger, associate director of Student Activities, said, “Miller is an excellent presenter and resource, so attendees will have a very good experience.”

This year the participation will be limited to 40 leaders. For more information, contact the Department of Student Activities at 770-836-6526.
