"Let's Talk About Sex"

February 25, 2003

CARROLLTON, GA - The Responsible Sexuality Committee and the Theatre Program at the University of West Georgia are sponsoring the 12th annual “Episodes in Sexuality” which will be held in the Black Box Theatre at the Townsend Performing Arts Center on March 10-13 at 7 p.m. Admission into the event is free.

According to Shelly Elman, assistant professor and director of theatre, this program allows students to openly discuss issues of sexuality.

“By using the environment of theatre, students are able to find creative ways to express their views and/or feelings on certain subjects,” said Elman.

The production involves student-written, designed, acted and directed skits which represent this year’s theme “Let’s talk about sex.” At the end of each performance, the audience will break into four groups with a facilitator from the Responsible Sexuality Committee, who will then lead a group discussion. Cast members from the production will also be involved in the discussions.

The director of this year’s program is Nicole Forgoston, senior theatre major. Cast members include Akinya Moore, Sandy Vongdasy, Spencer Pucci, Anie Witcher, Gillian Wilson, Justin Reynolds, Mike Cappaccio and Seth Denney.
