Video editing with Pinnacle™ February 14, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - Are you interested in turning your family videos into something that you actually want to watch? If so, the University of West Georgia’s Department of Continuing Education is offering Video Editing for people just like you. This course will teach participants how to create professional-style videos from their computer desktop in an easy, inexpensive way. Class will be held on Saturday, March 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Computer Lab in the basement of the Ingram Library. Using the software Pinnacle Studio DC10 Plus, participants download video onto their hard drive, where they can drag and drop scenes in any order. This allows the capture of only the best shots for the edited video. The software also enables users to add sounds and voice-overs, use special effects to move from one scene to another and much more. “The Pinnacle video editing system is easy and fun to use. It doesn’t require a computer programming background to figure out,” says Lauri Thompson, computer specialist in Continuing Education. Recent participants have edited tape from a church revival, upgraded wedding videos and even created yearbooks. It is recommended that participants bring their own home videos for each session; however it is not required. Also, basic computer skills are needed for the course, which is suitable for most ages. Continuing Education at West Georgia offers qualified instructors with real-world experience. Courses are offered close to home; traffic is minimal; and classes are small and personalized. At $79, the Video Editing course is a real value. For more information or to register, contact the Department of Continuing Education at 770-836-6610. -30- |
