Continuing Education offers IT testing

February 26, 2003

CARROLLTON, GA - You have the experience and the training; now you want to demonstrate your expertise and get the recognition your skills deserve. An Information Technology (IT) certification can increase your credibility in the marketplace, and it is tangible evidence that you have the know-how to provide topnotch support to your employer.

The University of West Georgia Department of Continuing Education can help you gain this recognition through the IT certification exams it provides with VUE, the electronic testing service of NCS Pearson Inc.

VUE is an advanced Internet-based system that administers information technology exams for leading IT certification programs, such as Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, Lucent, Novell and others.

“VUE’s testing system is the most powerful available,” said Lauri Thompson, computer specialist in the Department of Continuing Education. “Its breakthrough technology and passion for service allows us to provide great service for customers.”

The numerous IT certification exams accessible through the VUE system are delivered directly from the exam sponsors through the Internet. Exam candidates may register and reschedule their exams at the testing site, on the web or via VUE call center.

After testing, test results are quickly transmitted back to ensure that the candidate’s certification status is promptly updated.

“VUE’s technology gives us unparalleled control and flexibility over our ability to provide testing services,” noted Thompson. “We provide the test in the Continuing Education office, where it is easy to park,” she added. “The test is stressful enough without having to drive to Atlanta.”

VUE provides a variety of services to the IT testing industry from operation centers in the United States, the Netherlands, Australia, Japan, India and China. For more information about VUE testing at West Georgia, contact the Department of Continuing Education at 770-836-6610.
