Wright scholars to perform

February 3, 2003

CARROLLTON, GA - The Department of Music at the University of West Georgia presents the annual Wright Scholars Concert on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 8:15 p.m. in Kathy Cashen Hall.

This special program features the numerous outstanding student performers who are recipients of scholarship funds made possible from an endowment established by Betty Wright and the late Dr. Carter Wright in memory of Dr. Wright’s mother, Elizabeth Gellerstedt Wright.

Wright Scholars nominated by their instructors to perform this year include: Jerry Pollard, trumpet (from the studio of Phil Elkins); Thomas Vaden, piano (studio of Dr. Carol Gingerich); Tiffany Brown and Michael Gilreath, piano (studio of George Mann); Anna Jaskiewicz, soprano, and Elisabeth Mote, mezzo-soprano (studio of Dr. Larry Frazier); Jonathan Broome, euphonium (studio of Martin Cochran), Allie DeLoach, flute (studio of Lisa Bartholow); Michael Burnaman and Jameson Linville, baritones (studio of Dr. Kevin Hibbard), and Bart Walters, saxophone (studio of Dr. John Bleuel).
